The Large Hadron Collider is a grand physics experiment, situated on the border of France and Switzerland. Its existence has spooked a lot of the tinfoil-hat people, who fear that by turning it on, a black hole will be created, swallowing up the Earth, and presumably half of our galaxy, too.
A woman in Germany, however, fears the end really is very nigh indeed. So, according to the Telegraph, she went to her country's most exalted court to get its judges to understand just how nigh our final breaths are.
Memo to this lady: They've already turned the LHC on (briefly), and last time I checked, we're all still here. And we'll still be here even after they turn the power on full-bore.
